Agriculture and Income for Women and Young People in the Littoral and West Regions

Agriculture is an important foundation for food security, employment and economic development. It generates income, helps secure the food supply of families and, particularly in rural areas, provides important opportunities for local communities. Access to knowledge, sustainable farming methods, appropriate agricultural inputs and markets is an essential prerequisite for improving living conditions in the long term.

In Cameroon, a large part of the population depends directly or indirectly on agriculture. Women and young people in particular play an important role in agricultural production, but often have limited access to training, production resources and marketing opportunities. As a result, significant potential for social and economic development remains untapped.

In the Littoral and West regions of Cameroon, we therefore aim to strengthen women and young people through sustainable agriculture and create new economic opportunities for them. Through training, practical knowledge and access to suitable resources, agricultural production is to be improved, food security strengthened and sustainable income opportunities created.

Our work focuses on teaching sustainable farming methods, supporting demonstration plots, providing seeds and basic agricultural materials, and promoting water-saving irrigation methods. In addition, participants will gain knowledge in the storage, processing and marketing of agricultural products.

The aim is to strengthen women and young people in the long term and enable them to make better use of their own skills and resources. Rather than becoming permanently dependent on support, they should be able to generate their own income through knowledge, training and practical opportunities, thereby supporting their families and communities.

Creating opportunities – strengthening independence – shaping the future.
